British Ceramic Biennial 2019 @ The China Hall, Spode (7 Sep–13 Oct 2019)

In 2018 five UK based designers took part in a four-week exchange project in Beijing and Jingdezhen, China. Product design company Huajiang (Honav), British Ceramics Biennial and Staffordshire University initiated the project as a pilot, opening up channels for exchanging cultural perspectives on ceramic design between designers in China and the UK.

For the BCB 2019 the designer/makers present new and experimental works created as a result of the exchange project. Their designs capture the fruitful exchange between cultures, reflecting on notions of ceramic and material traditions through contemporary ceramic designs and artworks.
